bulletWhen our lives work, we are willing to try new things, to risk, so that we may expand and enrich our comfort zones.

Sometimes we cause our selves stress because we do not have enough stress in our lives.  This sounds like an oxymoron, but in truth we function best when there is some newness in our lives.  Stress is about change.  Some stress is healthy; it keeps us from boredom, something which can itself have a debilitating impact.  The decision we all need to make is how much newness we can accommodate.

In today's world many of us are too busy, but busy doing what--the same old things and not enjoying them as we perhaps once did?  Perhaps it is time to look at how we spend the hours of our day.  Perhaps it is time to change some activities;  maybe it is time to give ourselves more free time so we can better evaluate our lives.  Perhaps we know already what we would prefer to be doing.  Can we take some steps toward making that vision a reality?  Not doing what we really want, over time, has many negative emotional and physical impacts on our lives.   When our lives work, they work because the majority of our time is spent doing what we enjoy.  We may have to take a risk to change the pattern of our lives, but it will be worth it!
